Woman paralysed in botched kidnapping may soon be able to return home

A 22-year-old woman who has been left paralysed and brain damaged after her ex-boyfriend tried to bundle her into a vehicle in a botched kidnapping could be able to return to her home next year.

Angel Lynn was 19 when Chay Bowskill seriously injured her after an argument when he tried to throw her into a van - leaving her to fall into the road at 60mph. Since the attack she has needed care 24 hours a day.

Bowskill has been jailed for 12 years.

Angel's parents have been raising money to make her home suitable for her to return, and work has now begun, reports the BBC.

Angel is unable to walk, talk or feed herself and lives in a specialist home where she can have supervised visits.

Her home is being adapted with a wet room, carer's accommodation and a downstairs bedroom.

Parents Nikki and Paddy told the BBC: "We don't worry as much as we used to. She's more aware of what's going on around her.

"She's using her iPad now [to communicate] - she's got pictures of her family on there so she can point to the family members."

Jimi King, project manager on the renovation, said: "All the equipment we're using we've had for free, even rental companies giving us things at cost just to help us out. We're saving a fortune on raw materials at the moment - it's really quite incredible.

Nikki said: "We were told daily that Angel won't wake up, she won't make it. I want her to have the best life possible, obviously, and I'll make sure I'll do that whatever."

Angel Lynn, 19, was found lying seriously injured in the carriageway of the A6 near Loughborough, Leics., on September 17, 2020.

She suffered a fractured skull and brain injuries, is still unable to walk or talk, requires round-the-clock care and is unlikely to ever make a full recovery.

Her boyfriend at the time Chay Bowskill, 20, and his pal Rocco Sansome, 20, both denied kidnap but were found guilty following a trial .

Jurors were shown CCTV of the moment Bowskill chased down the teenager when she walked off during an argument before he bundled her into a van.

Shocking footage shows Bowskill grabbing her from behind in a bear hug and carrying her back across the road in in Mountsorrel, Leics.

Angel then fell out of the vehicle as it was travelling along at 60mph at around 10.45am before she was discovered by horrified members of the public. Bowskill, of Syston, Leics., was also convicted of coercive and controlling behaviour and perverting the course of justice but was cleared of causing grievous bodily harm.
