As people begin to deck their halls with boughs of holly, there's no doubt that many households will contain one or two Christmas gonks.
The novelty creatures have grown in popularity in recent years, and while you may see them in most shops that sell Christmas decorations, a pair of pals have taken their love for the gonks one step further - by getting a permanent reminder of just how much they adore them.
The best friends got inked with a huge image of a gonk, which are inspired by gnomes and hobgoblins found in Scandinavian and Nordic mythology, and the word 'bestie' in a bold black font.
One of the tattoo owners shared the snaps on the Facebook group 'Get Your Gonk On' which has more than 40,000 followers, and people were seriously impressed with the inking.
The pictures showed the woman's tattoo up close, along with her and her pal's matching ink. They show the pink gonks in all their glory, complete with long plaited grey hair and heart buttons running down the front of their jacket.
The woman was so pleased with her new tattoo that she changed her profile picture on Facebook to show it off to a wider audience.
Others were amazed with the inking, with many tagging their best friends in saying that they should get the matching tattoos too.
One wrote: "Let's get them!"
Someone else said: "Yeessssss let's do this they will look amazing with our other matching ones!"
Another person asked their friend: "Is this too far?" and their friend reassured them that it wasn't too far and they should go for it.
"I need a gonk tattoo!", one gushed.
"I think I might have just found us both a sister tattoo", another wrote excitedly.
The woman who had the tattoo later admitted in the comments that the tattoo cost her £80, saying it was the 'most I've spent on a gonk yet", followed by crying with laughter faces.
