A woman nearly lost her jackpot winning lottery ticket when she hid it in an old suitcase for safekeeping and forgot where she had placed it.
Srijana Wosti, 41, who lives in Silver Spring, Maryland, US, thought she has only won $50 (£41) when she first checked her ticket.
It was only when she scanned it at Kemp Mill Beer, Wine and Deli in Silver Spring in June that she realised she had won $50,000 (£40,600).
Worried she might lose the ticket before she was able to claim her prize, she hid it in an old suitcase in her house.
However, after telling her family about her news and making plans for the big day she would claim her prize, Srijana went to look for her ticket and realised she had forgotten where she had put it.
She explained to lottery officials that she was terrified when she realised she had forgotten that she had hidden the ticket in the old suitcase months earlier and scoured her house trying to find it.
Srijana said: "I was so relieved to find it, and to know I wasn't too late."
Luckily, she was able to find the Family Feud scratch-off ticket saying that she chose it because she liked watching the show where the winning tickets were revealed.
She said: "I like to watch the show on television, and I like that Steve Harvey."
This comes days after another man in Maryland won the jackpot after playing the same five numbers (40710) numbers for five years.
38-year-old Arnold Foster won £160,000 last Wednesday and told Lotto officials he thought "it was about time" his favourite numbers won.
The hospital worker said he was going to use the money on a deposit for a new house and put some towards his children's education.
Just the week before, a restaurant chef from Maryland won £84,000 on a Powerball lottery game just years after bagging £42,000 on a scratch card.
Dimas Montoya bought a ticket at the petrol station on the way home from his shift at work, saying that his jackpot was so high, the cashier in the shop said he had to cash it in at the Lottery headquarters as the amount was so high.
The father of four had previously won money on scratchcards in 2016, when he won £42,000 and then a few small wins as he made a habit out of buying the tickets after work. It was on the 7 November that he got his second big win.
