Woman mortified as hairdresser leaves her with 'leopard print' hair after bleach blunder

Making a drastic change to your hair by bleaching it to change its colour can always be a risky move, but usually, when you put your trust in a professional, you know that you're in good hands.

But for one woman on TikTok, leaving it to a professional hairdresser wasn't the smart move she had assumed it would be - as her stylist managed to completely ruin her locks.

Morgan, from the US, visited a hairdresser last year in the hopes of bagging a stylish platinum blonde look but was left devastated when she left the salon with disastrous results.

In a video, the woman said: "I think it’s hysterical now I look back on it but at the time it was super traumatic for me.

"The person who did my hair had apparently been doing hair for 40 years. They told me she specialised in blonde and I was like 'Ok cool, I want to be blonde blonde … I want to be platinum.' "

But Morgan, who posts on TikTok under the username @morganjade99, was then told by her stylist that she wouldn't be able to have the style she'd asked, and the pair had a back and forth for some time about what she could have done instead.

Eventually, Morgan agreed to settle for a balayage, which is a technique of applying highlights to the hair and would prevent the stylist from bleaching Morgan's whole head - which could have damaged her hair because of how dark her base colour was.

The woman allowed her hairdresser to finish her hair without her looking at it so she could be surprised at the end, but warning bells began ringing when she was told there were still "spots" left that needed touching up.

She explained in another video: "She blowdries my hair and straightens it for me and all the while I’m not looking at it.

"She’s got me turned around and I don’t what to see it until it’s done. I was getting excited.

"She was like, 'there’s definitely some spots I want to touch up, so we’re going to let your hair rest and then next week, I’m going to have you come in and I’m going to touch these spots up.'

"So I was like spots? She turns me around and I saw exactly what she meant. I was in utter disbelief. I was in shock. My face, I’m sure it was just white - pale as a ghost."

Instead of the flowing blonde that Morgan had hoped for, she was left with chunky blonde highlights that stopped abruptly before her roots, as well as several patches that resembled leopard print spots.

She added: "I felt sick to my stomach instantly, there were spots like literally leopard print spots in my hair. I didn’t even have words."

Morgan admitted she ended up paying the full $150 (£115) for the service plus a small tip, even though she wasn't happy.

And after breaking down in tears when she got outside of the salon, she called her mum who advised her to go back and tell the owner of the hairdresser's that she wasn't impressed - and demand they fix her hair.

The woman explained she did eventually get her hair fixed by the owner of the salon, and commenters on the video were quick to offer their sympathies to her.

One person said: “I’m a stylist and I don’t know how a trained professional could let someone leave like that.”

While another added: "Oh hell no they better have fixed your hair for free at this point, I would have freaked out."
