Woman lifts stubborn black toilet stains with £1.30 saviour cleaning fans love

Of all the places inside your home, the toilet is the worst to find stubborn stains.

Nobody wants to have to scrub away inside the bowl, but it's a must if you don't want to shock visitors with any dark streaks.

Unfortunately, yellow, brown and black stains are all too common, as the unsightly shades can be caused by all sorts, from hard water to mould.

But there is help for those who need it after trying their usual cleaning solution with minimal success.

As social media users highlighted when a homeowner took to Facebook group, Cleaning tips and tricks, looking for help, there are plenty of products you can try.

A popular product emerged after one of the group's members wrote: "Hi my toilet bowls inside have horrible black stains that seem hard to shift. Any tips anyone??" Thankfully, commenters were convinced they knew the trick to help the petitioner.

"Black harpic tablet and gel," someone recommended. "Harpic black best thing ever," a second answered.

Meanwhile, a third commenter shared a photo of Harpic Power Plus, available for £1.30 from Asda and Waitrose, adding: "Use this leave on overnight or a few hours works a treat on mine."

Another viewer agreed: "I used bottles and bottles of normal bleach, worked a bit but one big dose of this in morning was completely clear. The advisor replied: "I absolutely love this stuff, my partner put fence paint down our toilet, I know right x anyway couldn't get it off no matter what I used and how much i scrubbed but this lifted it straight away xx brilliant stuff."

Elsewhere, a reader recommended: "Citric acid 100%" while another thought: "Sterilising tablets in bowl overnight."

Suggesting a different approach, someone else added: "You need a pumice stone!"

"Pumice stone with handle. I got mine amazon," a second agreed. You can pick up a four-pack of pumice stones with handles from Amazon for £6.

Meanwhile, a commenter who'd tried Powerforce Ultimate Thick Bleach Ocean, which retails for 75p in Aldi, revealed: "I used this from Aldi leave it overnight gone next morning."
