Woman left with 'trust issues' after ASOS parcel has cigarettes and a lighter in it

An ASOS shopper has been left completely baffled after she opened up the packaging of her most recent order to find an empty packet of cigarettes and a lighter tucked into the pocket of her brand-new gilet.

Summer Angel, 23, treated herself to a £30 gilet from the retail giant last month and was suspicious when it seemed as though the packaging had been fiddled with - although she brushed it off as a bog-standard return item.

But when she tried on her new jacket, Summer realised there was an empty 20-pack of Benson and Hedges in the pocket, along with a purple lighter.

The woman, from Kent, immediately contacted ASOS about her order and was offered a 10 per cent discount code to use on her next order to make up for the ordeal - but Summer said she still feels "gross" after trying the jacket on.

She said: "I felt like I needed a wash after touching it. I noticed the clear bag the jacket was in was already opened, so from the start, I had a feeling it wasn’t brand new.

"I just thought someone had tried it on though, not full-on worn it out and returned it. The jacket also had what looked like white fluff all over it, I shrugged that off thinking it was just from the jacket itself.

"I put my hand in the pocket and felt something, full-on felt like a Bushtucker trial. I pulled them out and just laughed to myself and said 'what the f**k?'

"I felt a little gross thinking where has the jacket been?"

Despite feeling a little grossed out by the thought of someone wearing the jacket before her, Summer insists she'll still order from ASOS again - providing they don't "do her dirty" a second time.

She added: "They do have good stuff and it’s really the only place I buy my clothes from. I just hope they don’t do me dirty like that again.

"Although I have kept the lighter as it was pretty cute, and I have plenty of candles in my room that would benefit from it.

"I feel like they’ve given me some trust issues but we can work through it."

ASOS has declined to comment.
