Woman left red-faced by 'smooth' message left by Starbucks barista on coffee cup

A TikTok user was left red-faced when a Starbucks barista left a 'smooth' message on her coffee cup. The woman had picked up her beverage and had returned to her car when she noticed the secret flirt on her drink.

Posting on the social video platform, the woman showed off the cup, which had "secret message" written on it alongside an arrow that travelled all the way down to the bottom of the cup, r eports the Mirror. At the bottom, text was circled which would usually tell customers: "Careful, the beverage you're about to enjoy is extremely hot."

But instead, the Starbucks employee had crossed out several of the words so that the message read: "Careful, you're extremely hot." The woman, who posts on TikTok under the username @chance_twins alongside her twin sister, was left red-faced by the encounter and indicated she wouldn't be going back to the coffee shop because she couldn't face seeing the barista again. She captioned the video: "What just happened at Starbucks? Never going back there."

Commenters on the video were divided over the gesture, as while some thought it was "cute", others wondered how many other people the barista had written the same message to.

One person said: "That was smooth, not going to lie." While another added: "It's cute, girls say guys never do anything. He just put his heart out to you." But a third found the message suspicious, as they wrote: "I'm wondering how many other girls he did that to." The Mirror has contacted Starbucks for comment.
