Woman left note for 'fit bus driver' to call her but didn't get response she had hoped for

A woman was so tired of using dating apps she decided to bravely leave her phone number at a bus stop in the hope of catching the attention of a "fit bus driver".

Donna Suter finally heard back from the mystery man but it wasn't the response she had hoped for. She was sitting inside a cafe with her friend Ryan Meldelson when they saw him, and tried to get his attention.

She had even made a "call me" hand signal and Ryan had chased after the bus, but when that didn't work, they decided to leave him the message.

In order to grab his attention the mum-of-two left a message for the mystery man at a bus stop on Radcliffe New Road, which said: "HEY FIT BUS DRIVER CALL ME," along with a phone number, Manchester Evening News reports.

Initially, Donna's note was spotted by a passer-by, but she eventually (July 4) came forward in the hopes her mystery man would make himself known - and it worked a treat.

The 38-year-old explained that she had come home to find a message from the handsome man - but unfortunately for her he's already taken. According to Donna, she knows it's him because he left his photo, and he's a "lovely guy", but there will be no blossoming romance.

Speaking to the publication, she explained: "After yesterday I've gone into my mailbox and seen a message from him. I know it's him because of his photo. He said 'I'm the bus driver, it's me'. But unfortunately, he's taken."

Despite not finding love this time round, Donna doesn't regret her romantic gesture. She said: "He actually said to me 'you seem an absolutely lovely girl, if I wasn't in a relationship I would have stopped the bus'."

Donna, who has been single for five years and says she hates dating apps, hasn't been put off putting herself out there again, and even joked she might try her luck "at a train station or the airport next time".

She added: "It's my personality all over."

"Being out there and living life, not following the dating apps, it's not my style. Maybe it will change the way people treat each other in the dating world."

The driver, who works for Vision Bus but has been asked not to be named, said his colleagues have been trying to find out who it could be all week.

He added: "But the finger was pointed at me so I told them it was.

"I've found it highly amusing. I've laughed all week about it."
