For many women, last extensions are a game-changer.
Not only does having a full set save you from having to apply coat after coat of mascara or a pair of falsies, but they also fake the appearance of looking bright-eyed and bushy-tailed.
However, one woman was gutted after she was left looking like a "blobfish".
Adelaide Elizabeth headed to the salon to get the procedure done, despite knowing she was allergic to the glue.
After waiting for the technician to painstakingly apply each individual lash to her eye, Adelaide went on her way.
But a reaction to the glue that was used left her with red, raw skin and sore eyes.
She said: "Remembering that time I decided to get eyelash extensions knowing I was allergic to the glue."
Adelaide shared a picture of the after-effects of the reaction on TikTok in a video that has been viewed more than 4,000 times.
In the snap, huge bags had formed under her eyes, and her eyelids had swollen up.
She then posted a side-by-side collage of her puffy face and a blobfish.
She annotated the pictures with: "HAHAHA LOL.
"My face actually looked like a blobfish."
This comes as a woman shared the horrifying consequences of curling her eyelashes once she'd applied mascara.
In a video that's racked up more than 2.4 million views on TikTok, the woman, who's known as @roomeyroo, urged people not to make the same mistake she did as she explained where she went wrong.
She said she noticed her mistake after nearly all of her lashes had gotten stuck to her eyelash curler.
She warned: "And THIS is why you NEVER rush your make-up... I'm done.
"They better grow back!! The pain. Someone, please help me," she pleaded.
Whilst a few people urged her to curl her lashes before adding product, others suggested that she use castor oil to help them grow faster.
