A woman was left 'incredibly distressed' after her car was stolen during a robbery in Gateshead.
At around 8pm on Tuesday, a man approached the woman as she sat in her grey VW Golf on Gibside Way, near the Metrocentre, and threatened her, causing her to flee the vehicle.
The man then made off in the car towards Lemington.
While the victim was not physically injured, she was left incredibly distressed.
An investigation has been launched and officers have already carried out a number of enquiries, including a review of CCTV and speaking with witnesses.
Today, Northumbria Police have issued a description of the man, and asked anyone who might have seen him, the vehicle or anything suspicious, to get in touch. The offender is described as around 6ft, of slim build and was wearing a grey zip hoodie.
