Woman left devastated after dad and brother died in space of just five days

A woman has been left devastated after losing her dad and brother in the space of just five days.

Dwane Suffill's father died in the street home they shared in Hull earlier this month.

Emergency services attended the house at 1pm that afternoon and pronounced Andy Suffill, 52, dead at the scene - with his death being treated as "unexplained", Hull Live reported.

Tragically, heartbroken Dwane was found dead just five days later on Thursday, July 14.

Dad Andy and son Dwane were living together in shared accommodation on Bacheler Street, with plans for Dwane to move into his first flat on Friday, July 15.

Dwane had faced a lot of mental health problems, according to his sister Billie-Jo, after losing his mum about seven years ago, but was keeping his head above water.

Billie-Jo, 32, said: "I got a call from paramedics to tell me that something had happened to my brother.

"I rushed over immediately but it was too late and he had taken his own life.

"Dwane wasn't just my brother, he was my best friend. We would see each other almost every day and always looked after each other.

"When we were young, he would be the protective big brother type and scare all of my boyfriends off. In recent years though, with his mental health problems, it was more me looking out for him.

"I loved my dad as well of course, but it was me and Dwane with the tight bond.

"He was really looking forward to getting the keys to his flat, moving away from the area he was in and starting fresh – it's such a shame it will never happen now."

Dwane was the eldest of three siblings, with Billie-Jo in the middle and 29-year-old law student Andrew was the youngest.

Growing up, Dwane would be the fierce protector of his family, with hobbies such as boxing and motorbiking under his belt, but has now left the family feeling incomplete.

Andy's death is still being investigated by police while a post-mortem is concluded.

Police said at the time: "Enquiries are underway however the investigation is in the very early stages and at this time, the death is being treated as unexplained."

The grieving family is now going through the heart-breaking task of arranging not one but two funerals.

Siblings Andrew and Billie-Jo are the only close family they have left and are leaning on friends for support.

Billie-Jo's friends have set up a fundraiser on Go Fund Me to relieve some of the costs of arranging a funeral for their loved ones.
