Woman left confused after asking for popular Greggs snack - only to be told it doesn't exist

We all know that Greggs sells an abundance of tasty lunchtime treats - from staple sausage rolls to sweeter cookies and Yum Yums.

There's so much selection that customers may sometimes forget every snack on offer, but you would be left completely flabbergasted to find that your favourite item isn't on the large and loud menu. Especially if you were sure that you had enjoyed it at the high-street bakers in the past.

So you can imagine the confusion one lady was left with when she visited her local Greggs to order her go-to favourite, only to find out the goodie didn't exist. Baffled by her experience, she took to social media where others professed that they had faced the very same dilemma.

The Mirror reports that the mishap came about after TikTok's @tayyyylz popped into a Greggs, hoping to enjoy a 'fudge doughnut', but as Taylor, from Glasgow, quickly discovered, the item was not available to order. Luckily she found the sugary sweet she was in fact after though, albeit it was labelled as something completely different to what she had expected.

Recapping her experience, Taylor wrote: "I need to know if I’m going off my nut. I just went into Greggs to get a fudge doughnut and they’re not called fudge doughnuts anymore.

"It was called something like a caramel custard doughnut. Was it ever called a fudge doughnut, or did I make that up? I still got it obviously, but I’m so confused."

But she wasn't the only one, with one person replying: "I’ve always called them that!" as another wrote: "Had the exact same experience last week!"

Fortunately, other commenters may have solved the mystery, which would explain why there are photos online that appear to show products listed instore as fudge doughnuts. "Yeah you are right it has changed names," someone claimed.

"Yes it was definitely called that," a different commenter agreed.

The Mirror has contacted Greggs for comment.
