Woman left baffled after suspecting her boss eats her dog's treat

A woman's thread on an online forum has gained a lot of attraction after she shared her work dilemma.

The work fridge can be a cause of tension if someone leaves smelly food sitting for days but in a unique state of affairs, one woman believes her boss is eating her dog's peanut butter. After whittling down the list of colleagues, it can only be him.

Explaining how she has a good policiy at work regarding pets, she wrote on Mumsnet: "I bring my dog to work once a week. To keep him entertained if he get's a bit fed up I put some of his peanut butter on a licky mat for him. Went to the jar today and I swear it has gone down since last time - colleague says they haven't touched it, sure the dog hasn't helped himself so that just leaves the boss."

She joked: "Would I be unreasonable to bring him a ham bone and tell him he's a good boy? Seriously though.... I don't want to embarrass him by just asking outright, so I've drawn a tiny mark on the jar to monitor the situation. Would I be unreasonable to just let him carry on??"

The post gathered hundreds of comments, with many sharing how the thread cheered them up. Meanwhile others suggested how she could solve the problem.

"Let your dog lick the peanut butter directly from the jar. Take a picture. Share it with your boss with the caption, “Awww, he loves his peanut butter. He’d lick the jar clean if I let him. If that doesn’t solve the problem, I don’t know what will," one suggested.

Although someone hit back: "Does it actually matter?"

To which one replied: "Of course it matters if someone is helping themselves."

"Of course it matters, it's stealing. You don't help yourself to other people's food or drink," a second echoed.

"If your boss allows you to have your dog at work then he is awesome and you should buy him an absolutely top notch jar of PNB all to himself", a fourth piped up.

One interjected: "I'm concerned about your dog getting fed up at work. Wouldn't he better off with whatever arrangement you have on the other four days?"

The woman assured the concerned Mumsnet users that her dog was happy with her at work and the peanut butter was specifically made for dogs, which is why she was concerned her boss might be munching away at it.
