Woman knocked unconscious as huge brawl 'with weapons' erupts outside bar

A woman was knocked unconscious after a huge brawl erupted outside a bar in Birkenhead.

The brawl started at around 4am on Sunday, November 6, when a group of men gathered outside a bar on Conway Street in the town and two of them started fighting. Merseyside Police said this soon escalated into a large scale fight between several males, some using weapons, and also a woman.

The woman was punched and knocked unconscious during the fight before the men made their way onto Argyle Street and the fighting continued. Police have now issued CCTV images of nine people, including eight men and one woman, they would like to speak to in connection with the incident.

Detective Sergeant Nick Glascott-Tull said: "This violent incident appears to have involved several people and we are determined to find those responsible and put them before the courts.

“To get involved in such violent scenes is completely unacceptable. Thankfully, we haven’t received any reports of anyone being seriously injured as a result of this incident.

“If you recognise any of these people involved, please get in touch as we believe they could have information that will help our investigation.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact @MerPolCC or 101 with reference number 22000814709. You can also pass information anonymously via Crimestoppers 0800 555 111.
