The woman who died after being shot at a Liverpool pub on Christmas Eve has been named as Elle Edwards.
The 26-year-old was at the Lighthouse in Wallasey Village on Merseyside with her sister and friends when she was shot in the head.
Ms Edwards is not believed to have been the target of the shooting, which also left four others injured - one of them critically.
Officers were called to the scene shortly before midnight, with one neighbour saying they had assumed the gunshots were celebratory fireworks for the festive season.
“Her family have been informed, and on today, which should be a day with friends celebrating, they are coming to terms with this tragic loss,” detective constable Sue Coombs told a press conference on Sunday.
“We believe that the gunman fired shots towards the front entrance of the pub.
“We know that minutes later, a dark-coloured vehicle, possibly an A-class Mercedes, was seen to leave the pub car park, so we are particularly keen to speak to that male and anybody who knows anything about that vehicle.”
Merseyside Police has appealed for any further information, to help the investgatiob which has left Ms Edwards’ family “devastated”.
Nova Studio, where she worked, posted a tribute along with pictures of Ms Edwards on Monday.
A statement read: “Absolutely lost for words … Heaven gained the most beautiful angel. We are all heartbroken, thinking of all of your family right now elle, thank you for all of the laughs and happiness you brought into our lives, rest in paradise angel, love from your team at Nova.”
The police has said that a 28-year-old man remains in a critical condition.
Three other men sustained injuries but none are in a life threatening condition.
Local MP Angela Eagle wrote on Twitter: “This is heartbreaking news - My thoughts are with the family of the woman who has died and those who are injured. Anyone with any information please tell the police.”
