A woman has died and a man has suffered serious injuries after a large tree branch fell on them in Darwin.
Emergency services were called to the Darwin Botanical Gardens about 12:50pm on Sunday after reports two people were injured.
St John Ambulance officers attended the scene, where a 28-year-old woman was declared deceased.
A 33-year-old man who suffered serious injuries was taken to Royal Darwin Hospital.
Northern Territory Police cordoned off the area and launched an investigation.
Anyone who witnessed the incident is urged to contact police.
