A woman claims that she was charged 20p to sit inside and eat her Greggs sausage roll in Wales. The outraged customer named Shena P on TripAdvisor claimed during a visit to a Bangor-based Greggs, she was told there was a fee to dine in store.
After purchasing the food, as well as a vanilla slice and cup of tea to enjoy inside the shop, she says she was charged an extra 20p. Taking to TripAdvisor to share a one star analysis for customer service, Shana began to question whether the practice is something that solely happens in North Wales, WalesOnline report.
Shena also then went on to claim that other people who were speaking Welsh were not charged the excess for opting to dine in - The Examiner reveals.

Taking to TripAdvisor, she said: "We visited Greggs on the high street in Bangor North Wales...... My partner and I ordered a Sausage Roll, Vanilla Slice and tea to eat/drink inside.
"However, to our surprise the young man who served told us there would be a 20p charge to sit inside. We have visited many Greggs shops in England and Scotland but never been charged to sit down.
"Is this something that is only done in North Wales? If so why? We noticed that all other customers that sat down around us were Welsh speaking and none were charged 20p to sit down.
"I have sent a private message to Greggs regarding this matter and would like an explanation."
Greggs said all their stores across the UK charge different prices for people wanting to eat on the premises - and it is due to VAT, per item, not whether someone speaks Welsh.
A spokesman said: "We're legally obliged to include VAT for all food eaten within our seating area. However, this isn't a one-off charge. This is per item, not per visit."
