A woman who spat at one police officer and then kicked another in the chest has appeared in court. Claire Dixon, 43, appeared at Teesside Magistrates' Court to face the charges on June 28.
The court heard how Cleveland Police officers were called to Dixon's home in Middlesbrough on October 18, 2021. In their attempts to arrest her, Dixon lashed out at the two cops.
Throughout the attack, Dixon aimed her kicks towards the emergency service worker's chest. When she was eventually hauled into the police van, Dixon spat towards the second officer, but it did not make contact, Teesside Live reports.
The court also heard that Dixon did not have shoes on at the time of the assault. One officer was left in pain from Dixon's attack, however, there were no physical marks reported on the police officer.
Defence solicitor Nick Ayres added that Dixon had changed her plea to guilty at the hearing. Chair of the Magistrates' bench, Mr McGowan, ordered a pre-sentence report to be prepared.
Dixon was granted unconditional bail until she returns to Teesside Magistrates' Court for sentencing on Wednesday, July 13.
