Woman in stitches after £3 Too Good To Go bag arrives with 34 broccolis

We'd all love to save a little more money on our shopping and cut down on food waste in the process, and thanks to Too Good To Go, doing both couldn't be simpler.

The app allows shops and restaurants to sign up to sell food products that would otherwise be thrown away at a hugely discounted price, with only one catch to the customer - you don't know what's inside your bag until you pick it up.

And for Rachel Jenkins, her decision to try out the £3 bags offered on the app by Morrisons came with a hilarious surprise, as she opened her bag to find no less than 34 broccolis.

Rachel, 28, from West London, said she chose to give the app a go after seeing it advertised online but was left bemused when instead of the variety of fruit, vegetables, meat, deli, cheese, and dairy that are on offer in the mystery bags, she instead got lumped with almost three dozen of the same green veg.

The carer purchased the bag for £3.09 on February 25 and picked it up later that evening, where she opened it to find 17 packets of double broccoli, along with one box of grapes, strawberries, and parsley.

Rachel explained: "I was shocked at how much broccoli they had given me!

"It's luck of the draw what you're given and I knew that so I wasn't expecting too much but definitely didn't think I'd received so much broccoli.

"It's been weeks and I still haven't eaten it all!

"I have given some to neighbours, friends, and family but am keeping the rest in the freezer for when I get round to eating it."

And although she was "disappointed" with her first experience with the Too Good To Go bags, Rachel is more than keen to try her luck with another order.

She added: "Even though I was a bit disappointed, I definitely would purchase again because I'm intrigued as to what I could get next.

"I think more supermarkets should join and help save food waste.

"I'm planning on incorporating the broccoli into some dishes over the next few weeks!"
