YAMUNANAGAR: In connection with the murder of a man in Bhagwanpur village of the Jagadhri area in Yamunanagar district, the police arrested his wife and her two aides on Friday.
Notably, Sukhwinder Singh of Ahmadpur village in Ambala district was found murdered under mysterious circumstances at his rented room in Bhagwanpur village in Yamunanagar on Wednesday.
Jagadhri deputy superintendent of police (DSP) Abhilaksh Joshi said that the arrested accused have been identified as Kajal, wife of deceased Sukhwinder, her paramour Toni alias Mukhia and his friend Arun both residents of Bihta village in Ambala district. The police said the three accused were produced in the district court, which sent them to judicial custody.
The DSP said the accused persons have been arrested in joint efforts by teams led by Jagadhri Sadar police station house officer (SHO) Kusum Bala and the crime investigation agency (CIA)-II in-charge Rakesh Kumar.
DSP Jagadhri said that the deceased Sukhwinder's wife had an illicit relationship with accused Toni. He said both wanted to marry, therefore, they conspired to murder Sukhwinder.
"On May 23, when Sukhwinder returned home from (plywood) factory, his wife Kajal informed Toni about his arrival on a phone call. Toni reached Sukhwinder's room on his friend Arun's bike and the three accused strangulated the deceased from his neck with the help of a rope. They fled the spot", said DSP Abhilaksh Joshi.
He said on the complaint of Sukhwinder's sister Dimple, who raised suspicion about Kajal, a case of murder was registered.
Dimple told police that, “Sukhwinder and Kajal had solemnized love marriage one year ago. My brother worked as a labourer in the plywood industry in Bhagwanpur and my sister-in-law Kajal also worked as labourer in the same industry. Sukhwinder told me that Kajal had an illicit relationship with somebody as she talked with someone on the phone for a long.”
