A woman was "gobsmacked" by the kind actions of a "gentleman" at her local Tesco Express.
Jacqui McCreesh, from Bebington, went to pay at the check-out of her local Tesco after grabbing a couple of things for tea when her Apple Pay stopped working. Jacqui's purse was in her car, and she popped out for it.
But when she returned she found her shopping had been paid for. It turned out that while she was outside, a "gentleman" had paid for her shopping in what that cashiers called "an act of kindness"

Jacqui told the ECHO: "I just went in to my local Tesco to grab a couple of things for tea and I got to the check out and my Apple Pay wouldn't work. But I remembered I had my purse in my car so apologised to her and went out to get it.
"When I came back in she was holding the receipt. She said the gentleman at the till next to mine had paid for my shopping.
"Normally I don't carry my purse either so I would've been lost without his help. They said he wasn't doing it for the money but rather as an act of kindness. I don't even know who the fella was, but I probably walked past him when I came back in.
"I was gobsmacked. I got home to my partner and went 'you wouldn't believe what just happened to me.' That small thing that he's done, he didn't realise how much it meant for me.
"I want to pay him the money back, but I know he probably wouldn't want that. It made my day in such a nice way."
