Woman gets stuck in bin after wild night out as friends watch on and roar with laughter

This is the moment a woman was left stuck in a rubbish bin after a wild night out.

The incident was caught on camera in Surfers Paradise, in Queensland's Gold Coast, Australia, after a partygoer was seen hanging out the back of a bin on Friday evening.

An eyewitness captured the moment which shows the woman flailing her legs in the air as her friends watched on from the sidelines in tears.

The woman, who is wearing a party dress and an ankle bracelet, was looking for her mobile phone as she attempted to retrieve it - but her friends were too busy laughing to help.

One friend, who managed to stop laughing, asked her "did you find it or no?" but the woman's answer can't be heard as she remained head-first in the bin.

The person filming the video asks her "what the hell is going on here?" as the man remained completely stumped.

He then goes to try and help the woman from the bin as members of the public casually walk past the bin completely unaware.

It remains unclear if the woman was able to get her mobile phone back.

The footage on social media went viral after hundreds of people commented on the video who joked it could only happen in Australia.

It was uploaded to Facebook and drew over 2,000 comments as many people related to the incident.

Tony Torrisi wrote: "I’m assuming she’s dropped something in bin by mistake. I did something similar ... dropping my keys in the bin."

"That's actually not unusual for Surfers Paradise," one user mused.

Another said: "We've been in some states, but I don't think we've been in a "stuck in a bin state."

Some people didn't see the funny side of the video as one person suggested: "'She was searching for her dignity."

However, users were more concerned with the woman wanting to retrieve the phone from a disgusting rubbish bin.

Natalie Byers said the only way she would get inside a rubbish bin to reclaim a lost item would be if it's a diamond ring.

She wrote: "That's so disgusting. I hope it was a diamond ring she was looking for."
