Mum furious at school dinner lady who 'stole' fish finger gets some brutal advice

A woman upset that a dinner lady ate from a tray of food at her daughter's school has received a brutal response online.

The mum, who goes by the username Namechangingforthis2019 on forum Mumsnet, explained that her daughter had come to her after school with some disturbing news.

The eight-year-old girl had spotted a lunchtime supervisor picking a fish finger off a tray at the serving hatch - with her fingers - and then popping it in her mouth.

"I know she probably didn’t touch anyone else’s food, but it’s not right is it?" the woman asked.

"If nothing else it’s unprofessional and sets a bad example to the kids. But I don’t want to bother the school if it’s not really a big deal.

"Would you report it or leave it?"

The responses the woman received were resoundingly negative.

One person replied: "She might have been hungry and is on low income. I wouldn't embarrass her.

"It's a fish finger. That's not going to make anyone sick. I'd hate to think of anyone going hungry."

Another person added: "I could not be bothered to get so worked up about this.

"It sounds like you looking for a way to get her in trouble for possibly not being nice to the children.

"Don’t report it, they will laugh and you will be that parent they talk about in staff room."

A third person questioned why the  young girl was reporting such a minor infraction to her mum.

"I couldn't really care about this and I'm surprised an eight-year-old noticed and thought it worth mentioning to you," they wrote.

Another forum contributor saw the funny side in the debate.

They answered: "I'd skip the school and go straight to the police to report The Fishfinger Thief!"

It is unknown whether the woman did report the fish finger incident to her daughter's school.
