Woman fumes after neighbour cuts her grass without permission before sending her £60 bill

A woman was left furious after her 'cheeky' neighbour decided to cut her grass without permission and then proceeded to charge her £60 for his services. The neighbour, who owns a mowing service, often wakes the woman up first thing in the morning with the noisy power tools he uses before heading to work.

The problem worsened when the woman and her husband heard their grass being cut in the garden and were confused to see that their pesky neighbour who they had never 'formally met' was mowing the lawn. They questioned whether or not he was just doing them a favour but this theory was quickly shut down when they received a bill from the man for his unwanted services.

The livid woman who has refused to pay him any money took to Reddit to explain the situation further, the Mirror reports. In an anonymous post, she wrote: "On the weekend we hear both neighbours start mowing at 8am as we are getting the kids ready for a birthday party.

"I look out the front and see the 'new' neighbour on his ride on doing our front lawn. As I notice him he finishes and goes back next door.

"I mentioned it to my husband and we are both feeling pretty awkward about it as we haven't formally met them and why is he randomly mowing our lawn? Is he being nice? What is this?"

However, the woman was left baffled when she discovered a bill from the neighbour had been slid under her door. She continued: "Under the door is a bill.......for lawn mowing. The cheeky man was asking for £30 for 30 minutes on his ride on...... that we didn't ask for.

"I take the bill to their house and hand it to his wife explaining we weren't paying as we never asked him to mow and we are extremely confused by the situation. She honestly didn't even look shocked at what her husband did.

"She said she will give it back to him and that was it. We are thinking they were trying to scam us into paying...... seriously who charges £60 per hour for a mowing service!"

Other users flocked to the comments to agree that this was very bizarre behaviour from the neighbour and that they should definitely not pay for it. One person replied: So, strange. Might be passive-aggressive too? Maybe he felt you were neglecting it and he's making a point?"

While another wrote: "I don't understand neighbors like this? Payment for offering to help?"
