A woman from Adelaide's south has been charged over the death of a 21-day-old baby boy last year.
The woman is the second person arrested over the incident — which has been declared a major crime — and has been charged with criminal neglect.
Police said the newborn, from Christie Downs, was brought to Noarlunga Hospital by his parents on the morning of Friday, April 23.
The child's death was declared a major crime a short time later, sparking an investigation by detectives from Adelaide's south and from SA Police's major crime investigation branch.
A 31-year-old Christie Downs man was arrested on June 18, and charged with manslaughter and criminal neglect.
Yesterday, police arrested a 33-year-old Christie Downs woman and charged her with criminal neglect.
She was granted police bail, and will appear in the Christies Beach Magistrates Court on March 31.
