Woman found with 'numerous' wraps of heroin after police search

A woman has been arrested twice in five days for drug supply offenses.

A 49-year-old woman was arrested on Sunday for the second time in five days in Waterloo after officers suspected her involvement in the supply of drugs. She was searched under the Misuse of Drugs Act and numerous wraps of crack cocaine and heroin were recovered.

Across the two arrests a sizeable amount of crack and heroin was recovered, along with over £1,000 in cash. The woman is now in custody awaiting questioning by detectives.

Operation Pelican is an ongoing police campaign and was launched in 2017 to combat the drug trade and gang violence in Bootle, Netherton, Litherland, and the surrounding areas. It has had several notable successes due to its specific targeting and pursuit of intelligence gathering in the region.

A post on the Sefton Police Facebook page said: "Last night Operation Pelican Officers arrested a 49-year-old female for the second time in 5 days for Drug Supply Offences Officers detained the female in the Waterloo area after suspected her to be involved in the supply of drugs when she was searched under the Misuse of Drugs Act numerous wraps of Crack Cocaine and Heroin were recovered.

"Over the two arrests, a sizeable amount of Crack and Heroin have been recovered with over £1000 in cash. The female will remain in custody overnight to be questioned by detectives in the morning."
