Woman who found man's 'chopped off' hand in 'targeted attack took it home to preserve it'

A woman who found a man with his hand chopped off outside a working men's club after a horror attack took the hand home to preserve it, it is claimed.

A man reportedly lost his hand in an attack outside Deighton Working Men's Club in Huddersfield, West Yorks on Tuesday evening.

Police say a man suffered severe hand injuries after being attacked with a bladed weapon as he was in the smoking area.

Officers believe the attack was targeted and say the two attackers fled the scene.

Today a Yorkshire Live reporter at the scene says a police cordon remains and says there are still splatters of the man's blood on the pavement outside.

In a Facebook Live, the reporter said he'd been speaking to a woman who witnessed the incident.

The witness claimed she found the man with one of his hands on the floor.

The woman, who is first-aid trained, was said to be very composed.

She claimed she took the man's hand back to her home and started putting ice cubes around it with her father's help, the report said.

She then reportedly took the hand back to the club.
