Topline
A woman found bloody and confused on a remote part of a Croatian island earlier this month with no idea who she was or how she got there has been identified as 57-year-old Slovakian jewelry designer Daniela Adamcova, according to multiple reports.

Key Facts
Croatian authorities had put out an appeal for information after she was discovered on Sept. 12 with no phone or identifying documents.
Police were able to establish her credentials after receiving a number of tips from different countries, The Associated Press reported on Wednesday.
According to a 2008 Slovakian newspaper profile uncovered by the Daily Beast, Adamcova moved to the United States at 19 to study fashion, and her jewelry was worn by stars including Brigitte Bardot, Diana Ross and Barbra Streisand.
How she ended up on a Croatian island is still a mystery.
Key Background
Adamcova was discovered sitting on a rock, dehydrated, her face covered in blood, on the island of Krk in the northern Adriatic Sea, in an isolated spot inhabited by bears. She was confused and spoke with a “Queen’s English” accent, according to the Daily Beast. Her former landlord in Los Angeles told the outlet they’d last seen her in July 2015, when she left for Ireland. Adamcova had apparently fallen on “hard times” in California and struggled with homelessness. She is now reportedly in stable condition at a hospital in the city of Rijeka, and the case will be handled by Croatian social services upon her release.
