A woman was found dead on the tracks of a Liverpool railway line.
British Transport Police said officers and paramedics attended the scene, at West Allerton station, at around 10.26pm on Saturday, April 2. When emergency services arrived they found a woman on the tracks.
North West Ambulance Service attended to provide treatment but the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Detectives are now investigating to figure out the full circumstances behind her death.

A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: "[We] were called to West Allerton station at 10.26pm on 2 April following reports of a casualty on the tracks. Paramedics also attended, however sadly a woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Officers are working to establish the full circumstances behind their death."
Northern Rail trains on the line were between Liverpool Lime Street and Manchester Oxford Road were reportedly cancelled throughout the evening, while investigations took place. One passenger on a train from Lime Street told the ECHO: "The train at 10.20pm from Liverpool suddenly slammed on at Edge Hill about 10.25pm.
"We sat on train for a while and was then told to get off. I approach one of the train staff members and was told our train had hit somebody and all passengers had to make there own way home as no more trains would be leaving Liverpool that night."
