Woman found dead in 'unexplained circumstances' in Kerry as Garda investigation launched

Gardai have launched an investigation after the body of a woman aged in her 70s was found in "unexplained circumstances".

At approximately 1:15pm on Monday, the body of a woman in her 70s was discovered in a residential property in Ardshanavooley, Killarney, Co Kerry.

The body remains at the scene at time of writing.

The scene is currently preserved to allow for a technical examination to be conducted. The office of the State Pathologist have been notified.

Gardai say no further information is available at this time.
