When you're online shopping, it can be hard to know whether things are going to look nice, fit correctly, look like they did on the model, the list is literally endless. Budget retailer Shein are well-known for their garments at bargain prices, but one woman was less than impressed when she tried on a pair of jeans that were seemingly perfect - until she looked in the pockets.
Laura Mahachek was left stunned when she tried on the pair of jeans which were exactly what she was looking for - but she got more than she bargained for after feeling something untoward in the pocket, which turned out to be a rock that looked like it was from a fish tank.
Laura took to TikTok to show off her new jeans and she described them as 'specifically what she was looking for'.
She explained that she was going to take them to the tailor to get them hemmed, but she put her hand in her pockets whilst trying them on and felt something that shouldn't have been there.
She said: "I feel something in this pocket. What is this, and why is it in these pants?", she asked, as she pulled out a rock from the pocket.
Laura put the rock close to the camera whilst saying: "It's like a rock, but like, from a fish tank."
She looks baffled, then proceeds to sniff the rock to see whether it's actually been in a fish tank - then the video ends with her still looking confused.
In the comments, people said there could have been a very legitimate reason for the rock to be there, however.
One wrote: "That happened to me once! I heard it’s probably left over from the stone-washing process."
Another said: "You rub the stone in places you want to look lighter. you customise your jeans. in the 90s it was very common to find them in the pockets."
"It’s the stone for stone wash, I’ve found them in other jeans brands", someone else confirmed.
One TikToker commented: "In the 90s when I was a teenager, the Levi's 501 jeans always had these stones in the pockets, as a proof that they were stonewashed and original."
"It's a pumice stone", another added.
