A woman who is in a critical condition in hospital is believed to have fallen from a fire escape at the back of a nightclub.
Merseyside Police confirmed they were called to Hey Amigos nightclub on West Street in Southport at around 2.55am on Sunday, September 4 after reports that a woman had fallen from a balcony. The ECHO reported at the time that the incident occurred in the smoking area of the venue, however, sources have now confirmed that the fall happened at the rear of the venue backing onto Hulme Street.
One source confirmed that the woman "fell from a two-storey high fire escape", with the woman currently believed to be in Aintree Hospital. Merseyside Police confirmed that her condition remains critical as she fights for her life.

A Merseyside Police spokesperson told the ECHO: "We were called to reports over concerns for safety at around 2.55am after a woman fell from a balcony.
"A woman in her 20s was taken to hospital where she is in a critical condition. Officers remain at the scene and we're not looking for anyone in connection to the incident."
Hey Amigos declined to comment at the time.
