A woman feared she would look like the 'Elephant Woman' after being diagnosed with cancer in her neck.
Jade McGuinness, 31, was originally misdiagnosed with a swollen lymph node when she went to the doctor with a bulge in her neck.
Five scans revealed the mum, of Norris Green, Liverpool, was actually suffering from lymphoedema and a tumour had to be removed from her throat.
Ms McGuinness told the Liverpool Echo : "The whole process was really scary, from when I first had the tumour diagnosis to having lymphoedema.
"When they removed the tumour, I bought the doctor a bevvy and was so happy that the operation was a success.

"However, I was devastated to find out that I’d have a swollen face for the rest of my life. I looked like the Elephant Woman."
Ms McGuinness tried a possible solution for fat and swelling reduction and found a gel product that enters the skin and binds fat calls to shrink them.
She then bought a neck strap, began using the gel and broke down in tears at the positive result.

She said: "When I saw the instant results I was completely overwhelmed. I thought I’d have to deal with my swollen face for the rest of my life but this was my saviour.
"People forget that the way you look and feel has a major impact on your mental health and there are so many people out there who don’t feel comfortable in their skin.
"The treatments helped me feel like me again."
