Being fat-shamed under any circumstances can be seriously traumatic and upsetting.
One TikToker has shared her horror as she was repeatedly fat-shamed in a 'covert' way by a taxi driver.
UK-based Danielle Vanier took to TikTok to tell her followers one of the wildest ways she's ever been fat-shamed, starting a thread of comments as she encouraged others to share their stories too.
She began her video by explaining she was taking a taxi with her girlfriend Em, who she can be heard laughing uncontrollably in the background.
Danielle then said that the whole experience was 'stressful' as the taxi driver was 'slightly mad.'

Getting to the important bit of the tale, she said: "This was compounded by the fact that every five minutes, the taxi driver would click onto his little screen he had and would check the tyre pressure, huff, look very annoyed and sometimes glance back at me in the rearview mirror.
"Then he'd huff, check the tyre pressure again, look back at me, carry on driving, check the tyre pressure…carry on driving."
She then burst out laughing, clearly horrified at the inventive way the taxi driver had managed to be so passive-aggressive.
In the comments, Danielle wrote: "To all the people commenting with their own fat-shaming stories; I’m so sorry. Everyone, no matter their size/ability should be shown love and respect."
One user wrote: "Taxi man said how great it was that I was ‘turning my life around’ when I said drop me off at the gym… the restaurant I was going to was opposite."
Another commented: "I had an old lady come into my office saying 'your dress is very pretty...but bigger girls shouldn't wear dresses.'"
"One of my dementia patients said to me one day: 'I don’t know how you are the size you are with how much you walk.' Nicest way I've been called fat", someone wrote, followed by crying with laughter emojis.
