Woman explains what white 'fuzzies' on your hairbrush actually is

A viral TikTok has revealed what the 'fuzzies' in your hairbrush actually are.

Many of us assume any fuzzy bits of fluff in our hairbrushes are harmless dust, but they actually aren't just fuzzies. Iris (@irisolivia16) shares healthy hair tips on TikTok, and has recently shocked her 11,000 followers with a video on hairbrush fuzzies.

She revealed that the fluff is actually dead skin cells from your scalp, and that brushing your hair with a brush that has fuzzies in it could be making your hair more greasy. The video has now gone viral, and has more than 225,000 likes on the app.

In the video, Iris said: "NEWSFLASH: the 'fuzzies' in your hair brush aren't fuzzies. They're dead skin cells... and probably the reason your hair gets oily right after washing", and in the caption said: "I went 19 years of my life thinking they were fuzzies... I wish that were the case".

Many people were shocked by the revelation. One person said: "I THOUGHT IT WAS DUST" and another said: "IM SORRY ????" Some people were just glad others had the same problem, as one person said: "Tbh I'm a little relieved I thought this only happened to me lol".

Some people weren't convinced though. One person said: "No I swear mines lint. I literally find it in my hair from my bedding." and another said: "no it's def the dry shampoo. only get it when I have that or baby power in my hair", while a third said: "it isn't dead skin cells it's literally lint from your bedding, clothes etc the friction causes little pieces of lint to get stuck in your hair".

But, some defended her. One person said: "Y'all realise that dust is dead skin cells right? It's not that crazy. ur hair collects particles throughout the day and those end up in ur brush too".
