A woman has revealed she was less than impressed with a "romantic" chat up attempt after buying a coffee from Starbucks.
In a video shared online the woman Noe, who runs a TikTok page with her twin sister Ari, claimed the barista at the coffee shop made an attempt at flirting with her when she ordered a latte.
The server had left Noe with a "secret message" written on her coffee cup, along with an arrow that travelled all the way to the bottom of the cup.
At the bottom, text was circled which would usually tell customers : “Careful, the beverage you’re about to enjoy is extremely hot.”
However, the "smooth" Starbucks employee had crossed out several of the words so that the message read: “Careful, you’re extremely hot.”
Noe, who posts on TikTok under the username @chance_twins, was left red-faced by the encounter and indicated she wouldn’t be going back to the coffee shop because she couldn’t face seeing the barista again.
She captioned the video: “What just happened at Starbucks?
“Never going back there.”
Commenters on the video were divided over the gesture, as while some thought it was “cute”, others wondered how many other people the barista had written the same message to.
One person said: “That was smooth, not going to lie.”
While another added: “It’s cute, girls say guys never do anything. He just put his heart out to you.”
But a third found the message suspicious, as they wrote: “I’m wondering how many other girls he did that to.”
Meanwhile, one Starbucks employee recently shared the embarrassing truth behind the drive-thru that had us regretting every decision we ever made while sitting in our cars.
The woman, known only as Grace, revealed that Starbucks employees can actually see you when you place your drive-thru order, as they have a camera set up that watches the first station.
Grace wrote alongside her video on TikTok: “I hope you all realise we can see you in the drive-thru when you make faces at us.”
