A woman has died in a horrific car crash that left four people, including two kids aged eight and five, being rushed to hospital.
The 66-year-old died in the two-car smash on Garstang Road, close to Larbeck, Lancashire yesterday.
Offices were alerted to the tragedy at 8:25pm Sunday, November 13, when a Toyota smashed into a Dacia, travelling in the opposite direction.
The two young children, both girls, were rushed to hospital along with a 38-year-old woman, all of whom had been in the Dacia.
However, the driver of that car, the older woman, suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.
The driver of the Toyota suffered a number of terrible injuries as well including a broken arm, and bad hip and internal injuries before she was raced to hospital too.
After the fatal crash, police shut the road for six hours as investigators scoured the scene.
Sgt Daniel Gunn, from Lancashire Police’s Tactical Operations Unit, said: “We are appealing for witnesses and dashboard mounted camera footage following a fatal collision.
“Our thoughts are very much with the woman involved and her family at this time.
“If you saw what happened, or have dashboard mounted camera footage which could help us, please come forward.”
