A WOMAN has died following a fire at a property in Alloa.
Emergency services were called to a report of a fire in a domestic property on Primrose Street, Alloa, at around 5am on Sunday.
A woman was taken to Forth Valley Royal Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
Emergency services are still at the scene of the fire as both Primrose Street and Primrose Place remain closed.
Members of the public have been asked to avoid the area.
Police confirmed they are supporting a small number of local residents who have been evacuated due to the fire.
Detective Inspector Graeme Connolly said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the deceased at this time.
“We are continuing to coordinate with partners in response to the fire and a joint investigation with SFRS to establish the full circumstances will be carried out in due course.”
