A woman has died after falling ill in a bar in the Western Isles.
Emergency services rushed to the scene on South Beach Quay, Stornoway after the alarm was raised of a woman having collapsed shortly after 9.30pm on Saturday, June 4.
The 56-year-old was rushed to Western Isles Hospital, where she sadly died.
The circumstances around her passing are currently unknown and her death is being treated as unexplained.
Officers have confirmed, however, that they are not treating the death as suspicious.
They added that a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said “Around 9.45pm on Saturday, 4 June, 2022, police received a report of a 56-year-old woman having taken unwell at a premises on South Beach Quay, Stornoway.
“Emergency services attended and the woman was taken by ambulance to Western Isles Hospital where she died.
“The death is currently being treated as unexplained but non-suspicious and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.”
