Woman dies after crash in Dublin

A woman has died following a road traffic collision between a car and a bike in Garristown.

The crash took place today in Grallagh, Garristown shortly before 1pm. A cyclist, aged in her 20s, died as a result of the crash.

She has been removed from the scene and brought to Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown. A post mortem will take place in due course.

The driver of the car, a male aged in his 20s, was uninjured following the incident. The road remains sealed off to traffic and local diversions are in place.

Gardai are urging any witnesses to come forward. Those with information are asked to contact Balbriggan Garda station on 01 802 0510, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda station.
