Police have confirmed that a woman died after being pulled from the sea at a Welsh seaside resort. A major emergency service was launched after the woman was spotted in the water at Prestatyn.
She was airlifted to Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor, but North Wales Police say that sadly died there. The circumstances are not being treated as suspicious..

The woman's next of kin have been informed
A spokesperson told NorthWalesLive: "We received a call from the coastguard shortly before 6.30pm on Wednesday (September 21) who had received a report of a female in the sea in Prestatyn. Officers attended along with colleagues from the Welsh Ambulance Service and the Coastguard.
"A woman was recovered from the water and transported to Ysbyty Gwynedd by the Coastguard helicopter but sadly died in hospital. The woman’s next of kin has been informed and the circumstances of her death are not being treated as suspicious."
