A woman has died after she was struck by a car. The incident happened on the A494 at Mold shortly before 5.30am on Fr North Wales Live reports. Police and ambulance crews were at the scene and an appeal for witnesses has been launched.
A North Wales Police spokesman said: "An investigation is under way following a fatal road traffic collision in Flintshire. Sadly a female pedestrian has died following a collision involving a Skoda Octavia on the A494 at Mold. North Wales Police were called at 5.28am and the emergency services were sent to the scene. The woman was taken to the Wrexham Maelor Hospital but sadly died shortly after arriving."

Sergeant Emlyn Hughes from the roads policing unit is appealing for witnesses. He added: “I offer my profound condolences to this woman’s family. Our investigation is now under way to establish what happened and I am keen to speak to anybody who may have been travelling along the A494 during the early hours of the morning and who may have seen a female pedestrian on the carriageway to contact us. Equally I’m also appealing to anybody who may have been in the area and who may have dashcam footage to come forward."
The Welsh Ambulance Service confirmed two ambulances attended the scen. Anybody who may be able to assist can contact officers at the roads policing unit by calling 101 quoting incident number B044753.
