A woman has been killed after being hit by a car on a major Darwin road.
NT Police say the 45-year-old woman is believed to have walked out onto Bagot Road in Ludmilla where she was struck just before 9pm on Wednesday.
Emergency services attended, but the woman was declared dead at the scene.
NT Police said the 73-year-old driver of the car stopped at the scene and provided assistance.
He was tested for alcohol and returned a negative result.
The driver is now helping investigators from the Major Crash Unit, who have seized the vehicle involved and are continuing to investigate.
