A woman has died after being hit by a bus in Islington on Thursday afternoon.
Police officers and paramedics were called to Baron Street following reports of a collision involving a bus and pedestrian at 2.30pm.
Despite the best efforts of emergency services, a woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
Enquiries are ongoing to inform her next of kin.
Road closures remain in place.
No arrests have been made.
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called today at 2.26pm to reports of a road traffic collision at the junction of White Lion Street and Baron Street, Islington.
“We sent a number of resources including ambulance crews, an incident response officer and London’s air ambulance.
“We treated a woman but, sadly, despite our best efforts she died at the scene.”
