A woman has died after being hit by a train at a station in Wigan.
Emergency services were called to Wigan North Western at around 6.35.pm on Wednesday (June 14) following reports of a casualty on the tracks. Sadly, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police believe there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding her death. A file will be passed to the coroner.

In a statement, a British Transport Police spokesperson said: "Officers were called to Wigan station at 6.36pm on 14 June following reports of a casualty on the track. Paramedics also attended however sadly a woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
"The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
