Woman dies after 999 crews race to 'incident' at Glasgow Subway station

A woman has died after an 'incident' at a Glasgow Subway station.

Emergency crews, including police and paramedics, were called to a "medical incident" at Bridge Street subway station on Wednesday, February 20.

The British Transport Police (BTP) revealed they were alerted to the medical matter at around 1.30pm.

Meanwhile, the Scottish Ambulance Service (SAS) said they sent two ambulances and a critical care paramedic to the travel hub.

However, sadly, officers said a woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

During the incident, SPT announced Bridge Street Station was closed to the public.

A BTP spokesperson said: "Officers were called to a report of a medical incident at around 1.30pm on February 20 at Bridge Street subway station, Glasgow.

"Officers attended alongside paramedics. Unfortunately, a lady was pronounced deceased."

A SAS spokesperson added: “We received a call at 12.39 to attend an incident at Bridge Street Station, Glasgow.

"We dispatched two ambulances and one critical care paramedic (CCP) to the scene.”
