A woman has been left horrified after accidentally capturing the moment she was fired from her job while recording a TikTok video.
Jen Lucas, from Atlanta, Georgia, America, was taking part in the Wes Anderson trend when she received the devastating news.
Filmmaker Wes Anderson is known for his impeccably symmetrical shots - and has inspired creators to share videos about their ordinary lives in his signature style. Jen begins her video banging her head against the wall, with the caption: "I was trying to film a cute Wes Anderson-style WFH [work from home] and accidentally filmed myself getting laid off?!"
In her video, she carries out her morning routine - from getting out of bed to making a cup of tea - before sitting down at her computer to start her work day.
But that's when she opens her emails to learn she's been fired from her position as a recruiting manager at Amazon.
She explained how she debated even posting the video all things considered - but went through with it so people "know they're not alone".
Her video has racked up more than 6.1 million views - and she has been inundated with supportive comments from other users.
One user commented: "So sorry about your job, but on the bright side, with the creativity you've shown in this perfect video, I'm sure a better job will come to you soon."
Another user said: "I'm so sorry about the layoff! Wishing you all the best."
A third user added: "This is the opposite of light and whimsical - it's sad and tragic."
One more user said: "Oh no. Layoffs are devastating and empty platitudes are exhausting. I hope you find a better fit soon."
Jen ends her video by going for a "mental health walk" with her husband and dog, stating she is moving "onward to better things".
In a follow-up video, Jen says she was "really surprised" by the news as she had been working for Amazon for eight years.
"I got promoted twice last year, I had an amazing review just a month ago," she said.
"I know it’s not about my performance or who I am as an employee, but that doesn't make it suck any less.
"Part of me is glad to be out of this extremely toxic environment but the other part feels like a failure and a disappointment and hates that I have to tell people that I got laid off from my job, but that is life.
"I am human and this does not make me any less amazing or valuable or smart.
"I know I'm gonna land on my feet, I know I'm going to be fine. But this sucks. Like, this is a top 10 bad feeling."
