A vile rapist repeatedly sexually abused a vulnerable woman as she slept.
Callen Chandler-Jones' sickening assaults left her "completely broken" and feeling as though she had been "treated like an object".
Liverpool Crown Court heard this afternoon, Monday, that the 31-year-old raped his "extremely vulnerable" victim while she was asleep on at least 11 occasions over the space of several years. Charlotte Kenny, prosecuting, described how she became suspicious and began leaving her phone under her pillow recording when she was sleeping.

When she later confronted Chandler-Jones, he apologised and said that he had been having "irresistible urges". He later made "partial admissions" to the attacks, which occurred on Merseyside.
His victim today bravely read out a statement to the court, in which she outlined the devastating impact of his assaults. She tearfully said: "I don't know how to put my feelings into words.
"This has completely broken me as a person. I am doing all I can to put the pieces back together.
"The hardest thing to get my head around was why he would want to cause me such distress time and time again. My confidence and my heart and soul was completely stripped from me.
"He treated me like an object to give pleasure. It broke my heart.
"I really struggle to understand how he could disregard me and my body. I want to ensure he never hurts anyone ever again.
"I refuse to be hurt by him anymore. I completely lost who I was."
Heroin and crack cocaine addict Chandler-Jones has a total of 19 previous convictions, including for assault occasioning actual bodily harm. Andrew McInnes, defending, told the court: "These are extremely serious offences and the defendant accepts it will be a significant sentence.
"He has made admissions, which is to his credit. He does accept what he has done and the damage he has caused.
"His remorse is genuine and his regret is genuine. The defendant accepts he requires help and is accessing help in prison."
Chandler-Jones, of Home Close in Oxford, admitted two counts of rape during an earlier hearing. Appearing via video link to HMP Altcourse, he was jailed for 20 years and handed an additional eight-year licence period.
Sentencing, Judge David Swinnerton said: "You raped her in circumstances where she was exceptionally vulnerable. You used her like an object.
"You ignored her humanity completely and completely disregarded her as a human being. You treated her as a sexual play thing to do with what you wanted."
Chandler-Jones was also given a restraining order, preventing him from contacting the complainant indefinitely. He must sign the sex offenders' register for life.
Following the sentencing, Merseyside Police's Detective Inspector Philip Ryan said: "I would like to praise the courage and dignity shown by the victim throughout the investigation. This result shows that violence against women and girls will simply not be tolerated and we will work tirelessly to bring perpetrators to justice.
"We are committed to protecting victims of sexual offences, and anyone who reports an incident to us will be safeguarded and supported throughout the investigation by specially trained officers and sexual violence advocates who will provide all the relevant support. While no sentence will repair the damage that Jones’ abuse has caused, I hope today’s sentencing will not only provide his victim with justice but also encourage other victims to come forward and have the confidence in us as a police force to take reports seriously and ensure offenders are put before the courts so that they can pay for their crimes.
"Anyone that has been a victim of a sexual offence, is concerned for the safety of someone they know or suspects someone to be engaging in this criminal activity should come forward and speak to us. We have a team of dedicated staff who will expertly and compassionately deal with your reports, and we will do everything we can to bring offenders to justice and can pay for their crimes."
