Woman claims TikTok filter told her that boyfriend was cheating on her - and he was

All the different TikTok filters are so fun to use - but you wouldn't expect them to know what your boyfriend is secretly getting up to.

They can turn you into an animal or an alien, smooth out your skin and help you create cool video effects.

And now, it turns out they might be able to tell whether your partner is being unfaithful or not.

One user couldn't believe how a seemingly innocuous filter changed her life when it gave her the news she was being cheated on.

Erin, whose username is @Annoyingaaron, posted a light-hearted video with the 'magic 8 ball' filter that answers people's questions.

She asked the ball: "Is my boyfriend cheating on me?"

The ball shuffled before answering: "The stars say yes."

Erin pretended to look shocked, before admitting: "We just signed a lease."

But in a follow-up video, Erin revealed there was more to the story.

She had since discovered that her boyfriend was indeed cheating - and the magic 8 ball filter was right.

"It turns out he was indeed cheating on me," she said in a later post.

"So, the ball was right, he did indeed cheat on me. So do with that wha you want, the ball is never wrong."

Erin captioned the video: "Be careful who you sign a legal document with, my dudes."

One follower replied: "I'm so sorry, but also like THANKS BALL!?"

"I think you accidentally manifested it," added another.

A third added: "I'm sorry love, it’s never a good feeling being cheated on."

Erin replied: "Fortunately found out months after we had already broken up so I could not care less and he’s a garbage human but SHOULD'VE LISTENED TO THE BALL".

However, some other users pointed out a crucial detail she'd missed - the magic 8 ball filter only gives 'yes' answers.

But Erin explained she already knew that - so perhaps she already had her suspicions.

"My good friends, I am fully aware the filter only says yes but it's STILL FUNNY," she responded.

For those concerned about Erin's wellbeing, she has updated her followers to reveal she's now thriving and feels much happier.

She posted another video showing her crying as she lip-synched the words to a sad song, shortly after her breakup.

Afterwards, a clip played of Erin looking much brighter and happier, having overcome the heartbreak.

"You look happy. I’m so Happy for you," wrote one follower.

"The worst feeling, I’m so glad you’re healing!!" added another.

"It's shocking what a couple months can do for ya, eh," said Erin.
