A Polish woman claiming to be missing child Madeleine McCann "finally has a family who cares" after a mystery trip to America, it has been reported.
Julia Wendell, who went viral in recent weeks, was flown to the US by spokesperson and psychic medium Fia Johansson. The 21-year-old made the journey last week and is currently living in a safehouse in the US.
As reported by the Irish Mirror, Johansson has claimed the young woman at the centre of a media storm had been receiving a number of death threats. She even suggested one sick online troll put a bounty on her head.
Madeleine vanished in 2007 aged just three during a family holiday to Praia da Luz, Portugal and Julia previously amassed over a million Instagram followers after posting "evidence" to suggest she might be the missing girl.
Dr Fia Johansson, a private detective and self-professed medium who is probing Julia's claims, is the one looking after Julia and has shared frequent updates on her Instagram. And on Tuesday, March 14, she said that Julia told her she feels like now is "the first time she has a family that cares".
Alongside an image of Julie posted on Instagram, Johansson wrote: "She said this is the first time she feels she has a family that cares. My kids and my dogs love her angelic personality."
Dr Johansson had earlier shared pictures of Julia enjoying the Hollywood Walk of Fame and Universal Studios. She added that the young woman thinks people in the US are "lovely and welcoming".
She previously said Julia's mum and dad are refusing to take a DNA test but the family in Poland have denied her claims. They have also apparently blocked her phone number.
Dr Johansson and her team have been in Wroclaw (the city Julia supposedly grew up in) where she said they found no hospital records for Julia relating to the first five years of her life. The investigator is confident Julia is not who her family would have you believe.
She told RadarOnline: "We are still conducting an investigation but Julia is definitely not the biological daughter of her parents in Poland.
"We have a lot of evidence right now that shows Julia was definitely trafficked to Poland from another country by an international sex trafficking group."
